Mongolian Hot Spring tour itinerary:

Welcome to Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by Nurka is driver in the arrival’s hall at the international airport and transferred to your hotel. The hotel will select by yourself.

Day 1 – Arrive in Ulaanbaatar

At 8am, your tour guide and driver will pick you up and start your trip to Bayan Gobi sand dunes – surrounded by hills with willow trees, streams and bushes, and appear as a small desert in the center of the country. This sand dune is 80km long and the widest part of the sand dune is 9-10 km. Also, the sand dune called as mini Gobi Desert.
In the afternoon, we will visit camel herder family and explore their unique nomadic lifestyle. There, we will visit camel herder family and discover this magnificent place from on camel back. The sand dunes are perfect place for camel riding. Mongolia is home to 2/3 of the two-humped Bactrian camels in the world. It is a gentle, calm and extraordinary patient animal.

Day 2 – Bayangobi sand dunes

Today we will travel to across vast grassy plains, interspersed with basalt rocks and meandered rivers. Our slow progress on the damaged track leaves us plenty of time to observe the different scenes of nomadic life. Orkhon Valley recognized as a “Cultural Landscape” of the UNESCO World Heritage in 2004. Orkhon waterfall was formed by volcanic eruption and earthquakes some 20000 years ago. The Waterfall cascades down from a height 27 meters. Once we come, we will check in and have lunch. Take an excursion to the waterfall and explore around the nature.
In the evening, we will enjoy visiting the local nomad family to experience firsthand how people live in the country side and a lifestyle which has not changed for centuries. From there, we explore the around nature from horse back for one hour.

Day 3 – Orkhon valley & Orkhon waterfall

After breakfast, drive towards through forested mountain road to the beautiful valley of Tsenkher, which is the some of the lushest countryside in Mongolia with green forested mountains and meandering rivers.
There is famous Tsenkher hot spring that reaches +86.5″C, supposed to have curative properties for arthritic joints and other ailments. Check-in, lunch at Ger camp and time for relaxing. There are you can do hike and walking around the camp for watching wild flowers. Have a relaxed evening taking a hot bath in the hot spring water.

Day 5 – Tsenkher hot spring

In the morning, head to Kharkhorin, a small village, and one of the country’s major tourist destinations. Historically known as Karakorum, which was an ancient capital of Mongolia Empire founded by Genghis Khan in 1220. Also, Karakorum was one of the most important cities in the history of the Silk Road.
After lunch, we will visit the museum of Karakorum and learn more about the beautiful ancient Karakorum city and Genghis Khan.
Continue to visit the magnificent and the oldest Buddhist Monastery complex of Erdenezuu, built in the 16th century, with 108 buddhis stupas. Here you can see interesting listen to monk chanting Buddhist sutras.
In the late afternoon, we will take 1.5hrs drive to Ugii Lake – is located up 1337m from the ocean level and it is a pure water steppe lake, which is 7.9km long, 5km wide. The lake Ugii is a famous for its birdlife. Ogii lake has registered in the Ramsar Convention for being important breeding and staging area for a variety of waterfowl.

Day 6 – Karakorum & Erdene Zuu monastery – Ugii Lake

After breakfast, we will drive to Khoton and Khurgan lakes. The semi steppes are looks very beautiful. The Altai snowcapped mountains are located between Mongolian and Chinese border. It covered by Siberian larches with pure twin lakes. Local people called Mongolian Switzerland.

Day 7 – Kharakhorum village & Erdene Zuu & Ugii lake

Depart for the Hustai National Park. This area is home to the Mongolian wild horse known
as Perzevalski’s horse (Takhi) with a unique landscape that features mountain and steppe. Lunch and check-in at tourist camp near the National Park.
In the afternoon, we visit the information center and learn familiar with the national park and wild horse.
Take a short drive and walking to see the horses in their natural habitat. There is a great opportunity to take
photos of these endangered horses. If you are lucky, you can see fox, deer, roe deer, eagle, and more animals and birds…

Day 8 – Khustai national park

In the morning at 9am, we will return to Ulaanbaatar and visit Gandan which is the largest functioning Buddhist monastery in Mongolia. The main highlight of this monastery is 26-meter-high majestic gilded indoor statue of Megjid Janraisig.
After lunch, Sukhbaatar square which is lies at the heart of the city surrounded by important buildings such as government palace, banks and theaters and post office. There is an equestrian statue of Sukhbaatar and a massive Bronze statue of Genghis khan with his four warriors in front of Parliament House.
Continue to visit Museum of Mongolian National History – the museum presents Mongolian history and culture from prehistoric times to the present day.
Next visit Bogd Khan Palace museum – the complex was a residence of 8th Bogd Javzandamba in 19th century, the head of Mongolian religion. The palace consists of seven Summer Prayer temples and the winter palace.
Our next highlight in the city is a famous cultural show in the city, which is featuring traditional performances by singers, dancers and contortionists. It’s a great chance to hear Khöömii (throat singing) and see some fabulous costumes. After dinner, transfer to the hotel.

Day 9 – Ulaanbaatar city

Pick up from your hotel in Ulaanbaatar at 9am.
1.5-hour drive to Genghis Khan’s Statue Complex – the biggest (40m high) equestrian statue in the world.
Take a short drive to the 13th century theme park – micro kingdom with separate camps for Guards, Herders, Education, Craftsmen, Shaman and King’s assembly.
Upon arrival at the entrance, visit Relay-station camp
Visit and lunch at King Palace and wear Mongolian traditional costumes – it is the main attraction point of the theme park,
Visit Shaman camp – you can see customs, ritual of worshiping of several kinds of Shaman clan.
Visit herder’s camp – witness nomad lifestyle, great opportunity to ride a horse and a camel.
Visit educational camp – opportunity to get know about the unique culture of the literacy,
Visit craftsmen camp – enjoy seeing the craftsmen’s art work such as horse hold utensils, women’s ornaments, jewelry, arms and tools etc.

  1. ROAD: paved road is 40% and earth road is 60%. During the trip, approximately it takes 2-6 hours, driving (80-300km) from one next destination depending on road and weather condition on each driving days. But it is not nonstop drive! We can short stop frequently everywhere along the road for photographs, toilets, stretch and meet with local nomads.
  2. TRANSPORT: we will use below marked car types for your trip in Mongolia based on trip level, comfort road condition and remoteness. These cars are with experienced drivers and really suited their selected route.
