Altai Tavan Bogd Tour itinerary
Whenever arrival in Ulgii, we will short drive to Sagsai village to eagle hunter is family. We will learn Golden eagle skills from Eagle hunter. Photographing on the charming landscape, holding eagle on the arm, sharing daily lifestyle in Kazakh nomads are main activities.
Day 1 – Arrive in Ulgii
Early morning after breakfast, we will drive to Altai Tavan Bogd national park. It takes 5-6 hours. On the way we will have lunch. The lunch will prepare by cook. There is great opportunity to take photo. We will stay in a Tuvan family home. Tuva is one of the minor ethnic group in western Mongolia.
Day 2 – Altai Tavan Bogd national park
Early morning, after breakfast we will ride a horse and go to the Potanin Galcier and Alexander glacier. The biggest glacier is Potanin which is 22km long and 9 km wide. The White River is flows from Potanin glacier. You can see the Khuiten peak which is 4374m above sea level. Local people named The Five Holy. There is great opportunity to hike around the glacier. The lunch will prepare by cook. In the evening we will drive back to Tuvan family is home have dinner and overnight.
Day 3 – Potanin glacier
After breakfast, we will drive to Khoton and Khurgan lakes. The semi steppes are looks very beautiful. The Altai snowcapped mountains are located between Mongolian and Chinese border. It covered by Siberian larches with pure twin lakes. Local people called Mongolian Switzerland.
Day 4 – Khoton & Khurgan lakes
Early morning after breakfast we will short drive to Baga Turgen waterfall. The twin lakes are very beautiful with Altai eternal snowcapped mountains and Siberian Larches.
The waterfall is located near the Chinese border. There are 2 waterfalls. The biggest one is 23 m height small is 18 m height. Beginning of the June the waterfall is still frozen.
Day 5 – Baga Turgen Waterfall
After breakfast, we will drive back to Ulgii province. It takes 5-6 hours by earth road. On the way, we will stop for Mini supermarket in Tsengel village to buy petrol and some snacks. In the evening, we will have dinner and show the Kazakh traditional performance of Kultegin ensemble. Sing a song with Kazakh traditional instruments and Kazakh traditional dance.
Day 6 – Ulgii province
Early morning, after breakfast your local driver and guide will transfer to the local airport. It is time for farewell.
Day 7 – Flight back to Ulaanbaatar
